Actors and Director:
- This is all done on the set with the DP and crew taking notes...they will use this to set up the shot
1. Readthrough
2. Block
DP and Crew:
- I recommend fluorescent lights for the lack of heat
- Use stand-ins/PA's while the director goes over the scene with the actors
1. Props
2. Lights
3. Framing
4. Adjust Focus
5. Adjust Polarizer (yes, even indoors I use them)
6. Check for glare from the lights
7. Check frame for extraneous contents (mic stands, exposed logos, people's feet)
All Together Now:
1. Adjust Exposure
2. Check Focus
3. Check Sound Level
4. Recheck Focus
5. Quiet Please!
6. Rolling sound (if separate)
7. Announce shot for audio
8. Rolling Cameras
9. Slate
10. Background!
11. Action!
12. ... (listen for sounds other than what the actors are supposed to be making)
13. Cut!
14. Lather
15. Rinse
16. Repeat
